A drum circle is a group of people playing hand-drums and other percussion instruments in a circle. Drum Circle is a drumming app made by a drummer for drummers and “wannabe” drummers. It provides 8 different drums/drum sets that can be recorded on up to 8 repeating tracks or “loops”. The tempo is adjusted by tapping a drum pad with the “tap” track (TRK) selected. The BEAT button sets the number of beats from 1 to 16 per loop. Each beat is divided into 24 clicks that captures slight differences in beat, which make the rhythm sound more “organic” and less mechanical. Looping is disabled as long as that track is being played. When the player stops, the loop starts repeating the rhythm. Touching the DRUM SET button changes the drum for the current track.

Drum Circle is a great drum machine. It is easy to program and use. All you have to do is play it!

Some ideas: Record a drumming session in one meter (e.g., 8 beats per loop) and play it back at a different one; e.g., 5 beats/per loop. After recording at a slow rate, increase the speed by going back to the tap track and tapping out the tempo you want. You can also use Drum Circle for live performance. Create and store beats ahead of time in the app’s 8 presets that you can recall and play with just two taps.
