Line 6, Inc. (line6.com), the industry leader in digital modeling technology for musicians, introduces MIDI Mobilizer™ II, its latest portable MIDI interface that connects all classic and modern MIDI equipment to Apple® iPhone® and iPad®. Descended from the first-generation MIDI Mobilizer (the world’s first MIDI interface for Apple iOS devices), MIDI Mobilizer II is the ideal MIDI interface for GarageBand® for iPad® and other CoreMIDI music apps.

“MIDI Mobilizer II makes portable music production easy,” remarked Chris Grigg, Line 6 mobile products manager. “Anyone with an iPhone or iPad and a MIDI controller can connect MIDI Mobilizer II and be recording and playing music in seconds. And with new apps being developed all the time, users can access an incredibly wide variety of instruments, software and more.”

MIDI Mobilizer II is compatible with CoreMIDI, the new standard for iOS music apps. This allows users to connect their MIDI gear to the latest crop of music apps like GarageBand for iPad and many other exciting music creation and education apps from developers all over the world.

MIDI Mobilizer II plus MIDI Memo Recorder, an app created by Line 6 that’s free on the App StoreSM, allow users to record, play and back up any MIDI data. MIDI Memo Recorder features a streamlined interface for easy storage and recall of MIDI recordings, patches and more. AirVox – Gesture Controlled Music

Posted by Mikers On July - 26 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

Perhaps file in the more fun than functional folder, but Yonac’s latest music app, is pushing new ground non the less. Don’t forget you’ll need one of the latest iOS devices that features a front facing camera for this to work……

Introducing a revolutionary new way to create music: by simply moving your hands in the air!

AirVox is a unique and precise musical instrument controlled without touch — only using hand gestures and motions. Interact with AirVox via the front facing camera. Our real-time computer vision technology “sees” your hands’ movements and turns it into musical notes and tones. YOU are the instrument!

No previous musical experience is required to control Airvox. Its ease-of-use and many built-in features make music creation instant, and more importantly, fun! But AirVox is also a precision instrument. You can perform with the expression and phrasing usually heard in traditional instruments.

* Move right hand up and down to control musical note / pitch
* Move left hand back & forth to control any one of 9 tonal parameters like volume or vibrato (you can turn this feature on or off: it is turned off by us on the first-launch preset to make starting out easier)
* Use other hand motions or gestures for even finer control
* AirVox has 50 musical scales, each with settable root note and octave range.
* AirVox has a complete sound engine, made of dual oscillators, many waveforms, musical filters and audio FX, including vibrato, delay, and tremolo.
* AirVox has 48 built-in presets. Tweak knobs and save any number of your own.
* Record and share your music via email, wifi or SoundCloud (also Twitter & Facebook via SoundCloud)
