iTar needs funding

Posted by Mikers On October - 27 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

It was only a matter of time before someone came out with the idea of a guitar style controller that utilises an iPad.

The guys at Starr Labs who have been creating some pretty unique MIDI controller that resemble all shapes and sizes are currently running a kickstarter project for their new iTar controller. Here’s a brief rundown on what it will do –

“Our project is designed for musicians, guitar heroes, electronic artists, iPad junkies and hackers looking for a fun and easy way to take their show on the road.  At it’s heart the device is a button-based guitar fretboard (Starr Labs patented fingerboard) integrated with a dock for the iPad which will transform the tablet into a 21st century musical instrument we call the iTar ™.”

If you like the concept and want to support it financially, head over to their kickstarter site and donate some cash – http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/starrlabs/itar-turn-your-ipad-into-a-guitar

For those with even a fleeting interest in digital guitar products, make sure you check out Misa Digital’s new Kitara which could be grounds for a new genre of musical instruments. Check misadigital.com for all the details.
