Star Guitar Pro

Star Guitar Pro is the ultimate guitar app for the iPhone / iPod Touch. Imagine a virtual guitarist at your fingertips. Tap the chords you want to be played, select the speed and the rhythm – and enjoy the result immediately!

You can record your voice along with the guitar, and export your recordings to .WAV / .CAF and later to desktop computer or to Intua Beatmaker.

Latest update enables anyone to create their own rhythm patterns, using the Pattern Editor.

Now everybody can play guitar! No musical skills are required, and we don’t want you to tap or strum those tiny strings as in other guitar apps. Instead, just hit a chord button, and hear the guitar rhythm being played. So, you can play basically any song with just your thumb, and sing along, recording everything in realtime! Unleash the musician in you!

Simply put – Star Guitar sounds awesome. It sets a new milestone for the iPhone sample-based music applications. This is the first guitar app to have realistic strumming sounds. The most amazing thing is that everything is generated in realtime, thanks to our new “SampleMagic” technology! You can also choose between 3 guitars types (with more to follow!)

The unique concept of Star Guitar delivers an astonishing 144 chords at one screen. There are 7 root notes, every note has 5 chord modifiers. With such range, almost any song can be played. Turn a modifier on/off by tapping it. It’s really very simple. The chords for the songs can be easily obtained in the internet, at sites such as chordie.com.

There are two modes for strumming chords: manual (with “SmartStrumming” technology for added realism) and automatic. Automatic mode is the “virtual guitarist”, with 18+ rhythm patterns to be picked from, each pattern has A and B variations (for chorus and verse).

But that’s not all! You can export your recordings to .WAV / .CAF and bring them to your desktop computer via the built-in server over wi-fi (no extra software needed). You can also perform direct export of your recordings to the excellent Intua’s Beatmaker, without the need of PC, for further processing.

AG-7 Wireless MIDI Rhythm Guitar

Posted by Mikers On January - 22 - 2010 1 COMMENT

The AG-7 Midi Guitar has no sounds onboard… It connects to your midi software over your wireless network, allowing you to play whatever instruments or samples you like. It requires the free receiver application DSMI Server to be installed on your computer.

It was tested with Garageband and Logic, but should work with most other midi enabled software too.

The receiver app can be downloaded from here and setup guides for OS X, Windows, and Linux can be found there too.

– If the Tilt Trem button is engaged, the accelerometer is used as a virtual whammy bar. You can bend notes up, down, and also shake for a gentle vibrato effect.

– The force of your pluck or strum is governed by how far up the virtual string you touch. Near the neck gives a softer note, but hit near the bridge for power chords.

– To enable you to play in any key, the transpose function allows to to go up or down in semitones. There are 2 octaves up and down available which also helps for playing any instrument from bass to piccolo.

– You can choose the Midi channel used, so that it doesn’t interfere with your current Midi setup. In the demo video we assigned different instruments to each channel. It seemed to work fine!

– In a perfect world, guitar strings would never stop vibrating. However sometimes it is necessary so touching the mute button at any time stops all the strings.
