sir Sampleton

sir Sampleton is a sampling keyboard, which means it can record sounds through the microphone that you can then play on a keyboard. You can sample and then make music with your voice, noisy objects you find around the house, or almost anything that makes a sound.

sir Sampleton is inspired by sampling Casio and Yamaha toy keyboards of the 80’s. These classic keyboards were great toys, but are now expensive because they are sought after by professional musicians for their warm, low-fi sound and simple operation. Now, it’s possible to have similar sound and functionality in an app, plus the features that you wish the old keyboards had, like the ability to save samples.

FEATURES:

Sample through the microphone and then play your samples on the dual keyboards
Save and recall your samples
Add rhythm with the built-in beats and random beat generator
Tweak advanced sound settings such as vibrato, note trail length, and sample time
Put one sample on each keyboard in dual-sample mode
Tracks up to five fingers at once
Ten voices

bs-16i offers 16-bit sampling

Posted by Mikers On September - 9 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

bs-16i is a 16 multi-timbral playback sampler. It supports SoundFont, and can be used for keyboard instrument, MIDI sound module, and MIDI player.

The sampler engine is ported from bs-1 / bs-16, which is developed as professional plug-in for Logic (Audio Units) and Cubase (VST instrument).
Using SoundFont libraries, you can play with your great number of Instruments.
It supports all standard MIDI messages, so it also can be used as a GM (General MIDI) sound module.

As a keyboard instrument, you can play with scalable keyboard, pitch bend wheel, and many control change controllers.

Internal MIDI player supports SMF (Standard MIDI File) format.

SoundFont and SMF files can be sent using internal WiFi server. Also if your device is installed iOS 3.2 or later, you can use file sharing functions of iTunes.

Moreover, this application supports LINE6 MIDI Mobilizer.
You can communicate with other external MIDI hardware like as synthesizer, sequencer.
(Internal player is not connected to MIDI output. According to the specification of MIDI Mobilizer, timing error may occur when a lot of messages are sent to the application. It can be fixed by using “Buffering” option in application’s setting menu.)

Sing like Daft Punk

Posted by Mikers On August - 11 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

These timeless vocal enhancers never seem to go out of musical fashion. We haven’t had a chance to try this one out, so let us know your thoughts, if you have played with it.

iVoxel is not only an amazingly sounding vocoder – the unique concept of iVoxel turns this vocoder into a singing machine. iVoxel is a combination of a voice optimized synthesizer and a vocoder. The vocoder part is based on the Matrix vocoder from VirSyn used by many famous artists – one of them the well known german group Kraftwerk. The channel filters used by iVoxel are based on the Sennheiser Vocoder VSM201 resulting in a rich and fat analogue sound characteristic.

You can use iVoxel in two different ways:

As a realtime vocoder talking into the microphone while playing tunes on the keyboard. The sound character of your voice can be changed in many different aspects like pitch, gender or breath noise.

Record the analyzed spectrum of phrases and words from your own voice. Then use this voxels to play with your own voice on the keyboard or with the build in sequencer. Over 200 hundred prerecorded voxels are already included.

The output of your creations can be recorded to an audio file which you
can use with other Apps and programs for further processing.

Features:

• Realtime analysis/resynthesis of your voice

• 20 Channel vocoder

• Voice spectrum recorder (voxels)

• Over 200 prerecorded voxels included

• Play your vocoded voice live on keyboard. Drag for slides and vibrato.

• Sequencer for notes & lyrics

• Voice optimized monophonic synthesizer

• Time warping of voxels

• Gender changer

• Breath noise

• 12dB Lowpass filter

• Pitch vibrato with delay

• Chorus/Delay effects

• Export/Import of projects and voxels

• Export of audio recordings

• Copy audio recordings to Clipboard

IMPORTANT: For performance reasons iVoxel does work with the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G only in slightly reduced quality. Touch the help button on iVoxel’s main page for details.

You will need a headset with microphone to fully use iVoxel.

iPad users should use a headset to avoid possible acoustical feedback while using live.
